Dear Mom and Dad,
Thank you for your letters, it was nice to hear from you! Life is still tres byen pou mwen. Today we taught our first lesson in the T.R.C. The TRC is where we practice meeting and teaching "investigators," most of whom are returned missionaries. We had to speak Kreyol for 15 minutes with them and introduce ourselves and basically just try to have a conversation with them. It didn't go too well. I imagine most times when MTC Elders do that they struggle as much as we do but it was humbling to listen to them and try to understand what they were saying. I don't think I've ever said "pa kompraun" so may times in my life. We then returned and taught them the first lesson. I was way nervous even though they were both members. I really tried to pretend that they were real but it's kind of hard. They were really nice and spoke fairly slowly while they spoke Kreyol. One of our investigators was a woman from Ayiti who brought her two daughters with her. They were very shy at first then they were screaming and bouncing off the walls by the end. When I told about the first vision they both stopped and listened very closely. it was pretty cute. Today we got some new "greenies" including Elders Wilkinson, Elder Ellsworth (friends from USU ward, and Elder Fahey. (Blanding) I ate dinner with Rhett (Elder Wilkinson) but Elder Fahey, I only caught a glimpse of. Elder Swenson left on...yesterday. it was kind of sad but we did get a few pictures avek him, me, Lee and Marley before he left. He was still the same old Swens but he definitely had changed. He and his other 3 Tongan companions/roommates sang a song on Sunday in Sacrament Meeting and they taught our zone a lesson on effective teaching right before they left. That's about the whole story of what's going on up here. m'konnen ke Papa nou ki nan Syel la renmen nov. e l;ule beni nov. e ede nov. m'renmen nov.empriye pov nov. Naw'e
Elder Larson
*(If you can translate his Kreyol, please tell us what he said in the comment section. I don't even know if I copied it right from his letter. Also, if you would like to drop a note to Elder Larson, write a comment and I will cut and paste it into a letter. )
