Dear Mom and Dad,
Can you believe it's May? It's hard to believe, especially when the weather feels like August. Things are going great right now. The work is going really well. This week was the first week in our new and improved triple-ship. Elder Welch joined Elder Seaver and myself on Monday. We got to work quickly and have achieved some good things. We've been trying hard to set up splits with the members so that we can accomplish twice as much work. It's been going pretty well so far. We have started to find some investigators. The most positive is a man named Reginald* Charles. He is about 30. We tracted into him. His 2 year old son answered the door. We sent him off to get his dad and as soon as his dad saw us he invited us in. We taught him the first lesson and he loved it all. He committed to read and pray and accepted a soft commitment for baptism. The next time we saw him was on Saturday. We taught him with a member of the branch presidency who surprisingly did a good job of fellowshipping, he even offered a ride to church which he followed through on yesterday. I think Reginald had a good experience at church and he impressed the Sunday school teacher (and us) with his knowledge of the restoration. We are planning on setting a date with him tonight. So that's pretty exciting. But, we are really just hoping to find more people. The whole mission is doing well right now. We have a goal for 100 baptisms this month. 16 in our zone. We have had two people that have been baptized already and about 14 more dates currently set. Even better is that every area but ours and one other have at least one date set. So everything is going pretty well. Another exciting thing that we found out about is that we are going to have a mission conference with the whole mission on the 15th, and that Elder Neil * A. Anderson is going to be there. That should be sweet. Another exciting thing that is going on in the branch is that three families are preparing to go to the temple to be sealed. They are taking the temple prep class and we are going to teach them the missionary lessons again. They are planning on going in about 6 weeks. That's pretty much the story of what's going on right now. I hope that everything is going great at home and that you have a great week. I can't wait to talk to you on Sunday! (I will probably call in the evening, between 4-7 your time.)
Love,
Elder Larson
