Dear Mom and Dad,
Happy Anniversary! I hope you had a great weekend. Things here went very well. This week we were able to do a lot of good things. We saw some good progress with our investigators. We are still teaching pretty much the same people. We don't have too many investigators, but they are all pretty positive. One of our most positive in a 14 yr old boy named Michael. He is the grandson of a member and friends with a couple of the youth. He is scheduled to be baptized on the 29th. As long as his Dad doesn't give us any grief there shouldn't be any problems. We are just trying to help him read (and understand) the Book of Mormon. Also we are teaching a neighbor of a fairly recent convert. The member's name is Myriam and his name is Elange. He is a really nice guy. He has done a lot to help out Myriam and is just a nice guy. He also a a teenage son. He was scheduled to be baptized on the 29th as well but he didn't come to church yesterday (he said he was looking for work) so we will have to change his date to sometime in June. Also, we are still teaching Reginald. He has come to church three times now. He is no longer a visitor, in the fact that he has his own favorite pew and he didn't have to introduce himself in Sunday School. He is really pretty golden, besides the fact that he isn't sure that he is ready to be baptized. But we can work with that. We are also working with a few members. One family that we are working with has been inactive for a long time but they have a daughter who is home from college for the summer and we are trying to get her to come to church and hopefully bring the family along with her. But we'll see. There is a lot of work to do.
This Saturday we also had the privilege of attending a special conference with the whole mission. It was the first time in at least the last three years that the whole mission has gotten together. The occasion was a visit by Elder Neil _L. _Anderson. It was a really great meeting. We drove up to Plant City in time to be there by about 1:30 and Elder Anderson got there at about 3:30. We had a really nice meeting. We just had a question and answer session with him, but I learned a ton. The Spirit was very strong and it was a good boost for me. He talked a lot about the Atonement and how we should learn as much about the Atonement on our missions as we can. He and his wife are from Tampa and so they had some good stories. We also we able to take some pictures as a mission and see a lot of people that I might not be able to see again. I was able to take some pictures with Elder Garner (He was in my ward at USU). He has served his whole mission North of Tampa. But he was just transferred to Golden Gate, which is right by Naples. But, everything is going great here. I hope that you have a great week! Tell everyone hi for me.
Love,
Elder Larson
