Email of Dec. 15, 2008
Dear Family, I think I am having really similar feelings right now. I can't believe December (and 2008) are almost over. It seems like I just went into the MTC. I feel like I don't know too much more than that day either. I haven't recieved my wedding invitation yet so it was good to hear a little bit about it. I'm very excited for Edward and Krystal and I'll be thinking about them on Saturday. Here in Florida thinks are going pretty good. The branch has been going through some hard times but it's starting to look up and all of the members are getting excited again. Our district is starting a program to try and get all of the members in our three branches to read the Book of Mormon every day. That has been the difference between the members who fall away and those that are still strong to this day. Our new Relief Society president, Se Bebe, is a prime example. She taught herself to read using the Book of Mormon story book and now can read with no problems, and it is the Book of Mormon which has helped her testimony grow to the point where it is today. Our investigators are doing pretty well. Peter is looking really solid. He loves the church, has family, friends that are already members, and has support from his parents. Because of that his date for Janurary 3rd is looking really good. Our focus this week is going to be on him and his family. We will be trying to get his parents to do what we call the "twa woch" or three rocks. It comes from a Haitian proverb and refers to the three rocks it takes to balance a pot on a fire. The three rocks are to read the Book of Mormon, pray to know the truthfullness of it, and then to attend church. This week should be pretty good. Tomorrow we have interviews with President Colton in Bonita Springs and then Wednesday we have Christams Zone Conference in Sarasota. So this week should be nice and busy. I hope everything goes well with school and the wedding and everything else that is keeping you folks so busy. I love you and pray for you always.Sete,Elder Larson
