Dear Family,
This past week has been quite exciting! We got some good work done and things are looking really good with most of our investigators. Pharnod's dad just got back from Haiti and we talked to him last night and he gave us permission to baptize him. He told us that he has noticed a change in Pharnod since we started teaching them. It was such a relief. It will be nice for Pharnod to finally be able to take this step that he has be waiting for for so long. It will also be nice for our numbers because every time we teach his brothers we will have a member with us. Also, last night while we were talking to Pharnod's dad, he asked us to help him study for his citizenship test. That quickly turned into a contest between me and him. My companion would ask questions like "What is the ship the pilgrims came to America on?" and we would race to see who could answer first. I got into a quick 4-1 hole but made a late comeback just before the rain caused us to postpone the rest of the contest. It ended in a 6-6 tie. I was pretty embarrassed and I'm sure that Dad is even more embarrassed. Oh, and ya, I lost the Mayflower question. But anyways, this next week is going to be way good too. We have tons of lessons planned but we're still going to try to get lots of contacts too. Wednesday night we're going to play soccer. My companion is pretty good and we found a huge group of Haitians that plays almost every night. So, after he beats all of them, then I will make all the contacts. It should be pretty fun. We also have a great p-day activity lined up today. We're going be playing some Haitian kids in basketball. We played them a few weeks ago and doubled their score, so now they got some new kids and decided they wanted to try again. Well, it sounds like things are pretty crazy at home. I hope you get everything all figured out soon. You are always in my prayers.
Love,
Elder Larson
