Letter dated Jiye 3, 2008 (July 3rd)

Fanmi niwen,
Wow! Tell the Tate's THANK YOU! That is incredible. (Elder Larson was given money from Blue Mountain Scout Camp to use for his mission because of his service at the camp in past years.)
My background in French is definitely helping me. The one Elder in our district that didn't take French is the one who's struggling the most. It will also help when we are reading French scriptures and hymns. We get the Church News every week so I saw the articles about the Mission President seminar talks. I even knew one of the Elders on the cover.
That is exciting about Genny and Anthony getting new callings in their ward. She just wrote me an e-mail and was wondering why they hadn't gotten callings-especially Anthony. (Don's sister Genny was just called to be Primary President after only being in the ward since the middle of May. Anthony, her husband, was called to teach the older youth in Sunday School.) I'm sure they will both do great! Tell them at least they don't have to do it in a different language!
Speaking of which, we had our first appointment where we taught in Kreyol. It was intense! We did pretty good. I feel like I'm starting to be able to say the things I want to say. It's such a great feeling! Well, thanks again for your letters. Take care. Love you.
Elder Larson
