Dear Family,
It sounds like things at home are going well, congratulations on your awards! You both really deserve some recognition for all of the work you do. (in scouts)
Things here are going really good. The moral in the branch is really good and I'm sure that will have a positive effect on our missionary efforts. Our new branch presidency is working really well. Our new branch president is named President Lowman. He is a little bit of a younger guy. He has a wife and three young kids. One thing that President Lowman is starting is an English class for the members. It will incorporate gospel topics as well as job skills. It's something that the branch really needs. The work here is doing fairly well. This week we started teaching a few new people. One of them is a husband of a recent convert. His name is Jilbert Jean-Baptiste. He is a really nice guy and loves the church. We'll see where that goes. The branch could really use more families. This coming week we are planning on doing a lot of work with the members. We want to help strengthen the weaker members and try and get referrals from the stronger ones. Finding for us can be difficult at times since the Haitians are fairly spread out around the city. So any referrals we get helps a lot. We're looking forward to a lot of good things in the coming weeks. Including a visit from Elder Craig Zwick of the Seventy. I hope and pray that everything is well at home. I can't wait to hear from you again next week.
Love,
Elder Larson
