Dear Family,
This morning we woke up to a blanket of fog. It was a welcome change.
Things here are going pretty good. Right now we still don't have that many people to teach and we are struggling to find places to find. But the people we are working with are really good. Peter and Miara are doing really good. Miara has been pretty sad for about the past week because she lost her copy of the illustrated Book of Mormon stories book. Then of Friday, we took Jerry and Julianna Galety (Their cousins who were baptized in November) over to their house for a lesson and during the opening prayer Peter prayed to help Miara find he book. As soon as Peter said that, Julianna piped up and said that the book was at her house. It was really a blessing for Miara because she had been really distraught and we promised her if she prayed that she would be able to find it. Peter and Miara's dad still didn't come to church and we are not sure he's going to progress. But their mom comes back from Haiti this week so I'm hoping that together we will be able to spur him on. We are also still working with Henry and Joseph. Last night we had the opportunity to attend a fireside/concert by the 5 Browns. The music was pretty good but I don't think any of the Haitians that were there really enjoyed it. I just wished they would've only played and not spoke. They weren't the best public speakers. But it was still a fun experience and I think their testimonies will be good for the youth in this area. Also this week we were able to go on the Haitian radio station again. It's pretty sweet. They just leave us in the room and we play Haitian gospel music or Mo Tab. This week we talked about the Family Proclamation. It went really well, although sometimes I wonder how many people actually listen to us. We always open the lines for anyone that wants to call and this week the only people that called were the other elders after we told them to. But even if only a handful of people are listening I think it's worth it. I hope everything at home is going well. It sounds like you have a lot going on. I can't wait to hear from you again next week.
Love,
Elder Larson
