Tampa, Florida

In case you haven't heard yet, I have been called to serve in the Tampa, Florida mission where I will speak Haitian Creole! I guess Tori was the closest in her guess since she was the only one to guess an in-states mission although Tyler was sort-of close to the language. But I think it caught everyone (including myself) by surprise. Also, I will be entering the MTC on May 28th. I'm very excited! Especially about the date that I go in, I didn't want to have to wait too long and that is the perfect time I think. I'm so excited to learn Creole and to serve the people of south Florida! Megan also reminded me about hurricane season, I'm not looking forward to that so much but it will be all part of the adventure and will provide lots of service opportunites. Also, if I missed you during my calling/texting, I'm sorry.

Here is a "map" of my mission, to show you the general location:

I am SO excited for you. I think that will be the coolest mission. I bet your HS French will help you quite a bit as much of Haitian Creole is morphed French.

I once wrote a term paper about Haitian Creole, but unfortunately the following is about the only exchange I remember in that language:

Sak passe? = How's it going?
Ma bulee! = I am burning. (Because it's hot in Haiti, I suppose.)

Okay! Now you are ready to be a missionary in Tampa, Florida! :) You are going to be awesome at it.

That last comment was from me. Sorry, I didn't realize that I was logged on as Chris.

Don, I don't think it would have mattered where you had been called to, I think you will be an awesome missionary and you will learn to love the people in Florida!
